A pedestrian was killed in a Tuesday morning accident.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

The Dispatch is reporting that a 67-year-old male pedestrian from Pennsylvania was killed in an accident that involved an Ocean City Police vehicle on Tuesday morning while he was attempting to cross the Coastal Highway against a pedestrian signal at 94th Street.

The crash team from the Maryland State Police is currently investigating the pedestrian collision that happened at about 1:11 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the intersection of the Coastal Highway and 94th Street.

The pedestrian was hit by an unmarked Ocean City Police Chevy Tahoe patrol vehicle that was being driven by an on-duty, five-year veteran of the police force.

The officer was heading south at the time of the accident on Coastal Highway on a routine patrol at the time of the accident. The victim was taken by Ocean City EMS to the Atlantic General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
