One person was killed in an accident that happened in Eastpointe.

Details about the Fatal Accident

WXYZ News is reporting that one person was killed in an accident at a busy intersection at Eastpointe on Wednesday.

According to Eastpointe police, the driver of a van rear-ended another vehicle. Police have stated that the driver who was hit was killed in the accident. He was an elderly man.

The woman who was driving the van at the time of the van was wearing a neck brace and had a bandage around her arm when she was taken into custody by the authorities. Police have stated that the woman smelled of alcohol and failed several field sobriety tests.

The intersection in which the accident took place is just south of the 10 mile area. The intersection has reopened since the preliminary investigation and cleanup has finished.
