One man from New Lennox was killed in a motorcycle accident.

Details about the Fatal Motorcycle Accident

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a 74-year-old man from New Lennox was killed after the motorcycle he was driving hit a semi-truck on Sunday, according to officials.

The victim, Melvin H. Weidner, was riding his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle from Arsenal Road onto the Interstate 55 northbound entrance ramp in Channahon Township at the time that the accident happened, the Illinois State Police indicated. A representative from the Illinois State Police stated that the preliminary investigation showed that the man cut in from of the semi-truck somehow.

The accident happened at 6:37 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead at about 8:35 p.m., according to the Coroner.

The driver of the truck was not injured nor was he cited. A toxicology report is pending, and an investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
