A 73-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident that happened on Tuesday morning.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a 73-year-old man from Raritan Township was killed when he was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Route 202 and Voorhees Corner Road Church Street early on Tuesday morning.

Police have stated that the accident was originally reported at about 4:54 a.m., and Raritan Township Police were there on the scene investigating the accident throughout the morning. At this time, police have declined to name the victim in the accident until the family has been notified. A representative from the police department has stated that the man was attempting to cross the highway from Voorhees Corner Road to Church Street.

The man crossed the highway at the intersection where there was not crosswalk, but did cross on a red light. It was still dark outside when the accident happened, and the victim was wearing dark clothing.

The accident remains under investigation at this time, but charges seem unlikely at this point in the investigation.
