An elderly woman was killed in an accident that happened in Bryan, Texas.

Details about the Fatal Accident

KAGSTV News is reporting that a fatal accident shut down N. Harvey Mitchell parkway near Jane Long School Park for about four hours on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Bryan Police, a Honda Civic was heading south in the northbound lanes when it collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The elderly female driver of the Honda, 83-year-old Toshiko Bessette, died immediately at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was sent to the CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital with severe but non-life threatening injuries. An update on that driver’s condition is not available at this time.

At this time, it is not known why the woman was driving in the opposite lanes of traffic, but the accident currently remains ongoing at this time.
