Elderly Woman Killed in Hockley County Accident

A woman is dead following a fatal collision at the intersection of FM 1585 and U.S. Highway 385 in Hockley County outside of Lubbock, Texas Wednesday evening.

About the Fatal Hockley County Crash

According to KCBD, the accident occurred when a Jeep rear-ended a Dodge pickup along U.S. Highway 385 around 8:30 pm.

Officials believe the pickup was slowing down to make a left turn onto FM 1585 when it was struck by the Jeep driven by a 17-year-old female from Levelland.

The passenger of the Dodge pickup, a 66-yaer-old woman from Odessa, was pronounced dead at the scene – the condition of the driver was not acknowledged.

No names have been released.
