Elderly Woman Killed in Houston-Area Accident

An elderly woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident that happened on Monday.

Details about the Fatal Accident

The Abilene Reporter-News is reporting that a 90-year-old woman from Houston was killed in a two-vehicle accident that happened on Monday afternoon near the intersection of Farm Roads 18 and 603, which is just a few miles west of Clyde.

According to police, the victim has been identified as Maria Segrest, who was a passenger in a vehicle that was being driven by 62-year-old Nery Vasquez Shoonover of San Antonio.

Shoonover was driving a 2005 Toyota Yaris heading south on FM 603 at about 1:30 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Shoonover stopped at the intersection and then pulled out in front of the 2007 Suzuki XL7 Colt that was traveling along FM 18 and was being driven by Christine Dawn Moore, of Clyde.

Neither of the drivers, or the passengers in Moore’s vehicle were seriously injured. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
