An elderly woman was killed in an accident in San Antonio’s northwest side.

Details about the Fatal Accident Involving the Elderly Woman

News 4 San Antonio is reporting that an elderly woman was killed in a tragic car accident that happened on the far northwest side of the city on Saturday evening. According to police, the accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. at the 10400 block of Braun Road near Wildhorse in Helotes.

Police have further revealed that a vehicle was attempting to make a left-hand turn at an unprotected light into a subdivision. An oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane crashed into the victim’s vehicle and killed 62-year-old Maria Santillan, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The victim was killed on impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither of the drivers in the vehicles suffered any injuries as a result of the accident.

Police have said that they don’t believe that alcohol was a factor in the accident and no charges are going to be filed against either of the drivers.
