Electric Blower Vacuums Recalled Due to Risk of Fire and Burns
About the Electic Blower Vacuum Recall
The vacuums can potentially overheat and spark, which can cause a fire and create a risk of burns to the user.
There have been 1,369 reports of the blower vacuum sparking or smoking, which included one report of a minor injury.
The product was sold at Home Depot and Direct Tools Factory Outlets as well as www.homedepot.com from January 2010 to March 2015 for $40.
Consumers are advised to stop using the blower vacuums and to return them for a full refund.
Description of the Recalled Blower Vacuums
- The product was previously recalled in the United States and Canada in February 2013.
- The product is a red and black 12 amp electric blower vacuum.
- The model numbers are UT42120, UT42120A and UT42121 and can be found on a label on the left side of the red motor.
- “Homelite BlowerVac 2 Speed Powerful 220 MPH” is printed on the side of the motor and again on the black plastic blower tube.
