Fatal New Braunfels Accident Caused by Fleeing Driver

One person was killed by a driver that was fleeing the scene of a minor accident.

Details about the Fatal Accident

News 4 San Antonio is reporting that a woman was killed after her vehicle was hit by a driver who was fleeing the scene of a minor accident, according to the New Braunfels Police Department.

Police have further revealed that they were called to the scene of the major three-vehicle accident near the intersection of FM 725 and East Klein Road at about 10 a.m. om Saturday morning. When the police officers arrived at the scene of the accident, they found a grey Dodge Durango had been involved in a minor rear-end accident with a Ford pickup truck. Investigators say that the Dodge tried to flee after the accident and drove into oncoming traffic, where it hit a blue Chevrolet Sonic.

The driver of the Chevy Sonic, 41-year-old Jennifer Cicha, of New Braunfels, died as a result of her injuries sustained in the accident. The 61-year-old male driver of the dodge was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the Ford pickup truck was not injured.

Criminal charges are pending in the accident.
