Tina Robinson2 years ago

One person was killed and at least four others injured on Saturday night after a six-vehicle accident in Cranbury, N.J. According to Fox News, comedian Tracy Morgan was among those injured in the crash.

About the Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash

The accident occurred around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury, N.J. A tractor-trailer swerved suddenly after the driver failed to observe slow traffic and crashed into the back of a limo. That set-off a chain reaction collision that involved a second tractor-trailer, an SUV, and two cars. The impact of the crash caused the limo to overturn.

One of the limo passengers, identified as James McNair, died from injuries sustained in the crash. Also in the limo was comedian Tracy Morgan. Morgan and another passenger, Jeffery Millea, were airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in critical condition. Also injured was Ardie Fuqua Jr., listed in critical condition, and Harris Stanton who was treated and released. Two others in the limo were uninjured.

NTSB to Investigate

One of the tractor-trailers involved in the accident was a Walmart truck. Walmart President Bill Simon released a statement saying the company would take “full responsibility” if investigators conclude its truck caused the crash. It is unclear which truck involved in the crash belonged to Walmart.

Truck driver Kevin Roper, 35 of Jonesboro, Ga., has been charged with death by auto and four counts of assault stemming from the accident.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has said it will investigate the crash. NTSB investigators will look at issues related to commercial trucking as well as limousine safety.
