Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is conducting a voluntary safety recall for approximately 400,000 Dodge Chargers due to a safety hazard.

Regarding the Recall

According the FCA press release, this voluntary recall has been initiated to supply wheel chocks to affected owners. These chocks will be free of charge and are intended to be used in coordination with the tire jack when changing wheels to assist in stabilizing the vehicle.

Road Show has reported that when lifting one of the affected vehicles on its supplied jack, there is a high likelihood that the car can come off it and return to the ground without warning.

Three injury claims have been submitted as a result of this problem.

Affected Dodge Chargers

According to releases, the recall covers 2011-2016 full-sized sedan Dodge Charger.

Of the recalled vehicles were sold in:

  • USA – 441,578
  • Canada – 19,229
  • Mexico – 4,969
  • Outside the NAFTA region – 38,947
