Feds Shut Down Tennessee Truck Company

Ramona Roberts4 years ago

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently ordered Tennessee-based truck company Three Angels Farms to immediately cease all transportation due to serious safety violations.

The company had two trucking accidents within the previous six months due to poorly maintained vehicles and fatigued drivers- the accidents resulted in the deaths of four horses.

Three Angels Farms Safety Violations

According to the FMCSA, an extensive review of the company and its owners found numerous safety violations. The FMCSA determined that the safety infractions would likely increase the chance of serious injury to the traveling public. Violations included:

  • the company permitted its drivers to operate commercial motor vehicles without commercial driver's licenses
  • the company did not conduct proper controlled substances testing of its drivers
  • the company had poorly maintained vehicles
  • the company allowed fatigued or disqualified drivers to operate its vehicles
  • the company violated the hours-of-service compliance
  • the company violated driver qualification requirements
