Feds Shut Down Wisconsin Trucking Company

Ruben Tyler Kendrick4 years ago

WTSA US Express, a Wisconsin based trucking company, has been ordered by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to stop all transportation services immediately due to safety violations which pose a threat to public safety.

Trucking Company Had Numerous Violations

After conducting an extensive review of WTSA US Express’ operations, the FMCSA discovered multiple violations including drivers’ hours-of-service compliance, driver qualifications, and drug testing requirements. These infractions increase the likelihood of injury to the public on the road. This follows a major bus shut down by the FMCSA earlier in the summer. “Safety is always our top priority,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has said.

WTSA Safety Violations

  • The company employed drivers without valid commercial driver’s licenses.
  • The company employed drivers without valid medical certificates.
  • The company allowed drivers to operate without records of duty status.
  • The company did not test drivers for controlled substances.
