A Twin Falls woman has been charged in the death of a firefighter who was hit by her Jeep.

Multiple sources are reporting that a woman has been charged in the death of a firefighter who was riding his bike when he was hit by the woman’s Jeep.

According to the Times-News, the woman was charged with vehicular manslaughter and for leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death on Thursday. 34-year-old Ryan Franklin was killed at the scene of the accident on Wednesday due to blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.

The woman who hit the man originally told police she fell asleep at the wheel while she was driving and woke up when her vehicle it something. The woman stated that she got out of her vehicle but left the scene after not seeing anything on the road. Deputies eventually found her badly damaged vehicle about 10 miles away from the scene of the accident.
