Firestone FS561 Tires Recalled
Regarding the Firestone Tire Recall
According to Today’s Trucking and PR Newswire, Bridgestone has issued a voluntary recall of the Firestone FS561 tires due to a safety hazard. Increased warranty adjustment returns for tread separation and/or detachment revealed that these tires could experience scrubbing which would increase this risk.
While no such accidents have been claimed, this flaw could contribute to a sudden and unanticipated vehicular crash. These tires only present this risk when used for trailer applications and do not display this error in any other application or service condition.
Affected owners are eligible to exchange their FS561 tires for the FS560 Plus or other comparable Firestone or Bridgestone brand tire at no cost.
