Five bicyclists were hit and killed in an accident that happened in Michigan.

Details about the Fatal Bicycle Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that police were searching for a pickup truck after receiving reports that it was driving erratically just minutes before five adults in a group of bicyclists were hit and killed on a street in western Michigan, according to a prosecutor.

According to officials, four other bicyclists suffered from serious injuries on Tuesday evening in the Cooper Township and were taken to local hospitals. All of the victims were adults. The driver of the pickup truck has been described as a 50-year-old man from western Michigan. He reportedly fled the scene of the wrecked vehicle, but police caught up to him a short time later. At this time, charges have yet to be filed.

The bicyclists were riding in a group when they were hit by the erratic driver. The names of the men and women who were killed have not been released, pending full notification of family members.
