A T-bone accident in El Cajon has injured five people – including two children.

10 News is reporting that five people – including two children – were injured in a T-bone accident at an intersection in El Cajon on Friday morning.

The accident involved two vehicles and happened just before 10:40 a.m. at West Main Street and South Marshall Avenue, according to the authorites.

Police from El Cajon say that five people, including two small children, were taken to the hospital. Information regarding the conditions of the victims was not readily available.

A power pole belonging to San Diego Gas and Electric was hit during the accident, but did not fall down.

The official cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

Drivers in the area were urged by officials and emergency crew to avoid the area until about 2 p.m., according to the Heartland Fire and Rescue.
