Five people were killed in an accident that happened on Interstate 16.

Details about the Fatal Accident

WSAV News is reporting that two motor vehicles were involved in a collision that happened on Interstate 16 near the Pooler Parkway, Savannah Airport exit, which is in Pooler. According to local police, they responded to the scene of the accident on Wednesday morning at about 6 a.m.

Officials at the scene of the accident have stated that a Ford Mustang carrying three people was heading west when it crossed the median into the eastbound lanes. After crossing over into the opposite lanes, it collided head-on in a high speed collision with a Kia Soul that was transporting two people.

Unfortunately, all five people involved in the accident died in the crash.

The eastbound lanes of the interstate were temporarily closed for a short time while a preliminary investigation into the accident was conducted.
