Five Texas A&M Students Injured in Accident

Five students from Texas A&M University were injured Sunday evening when their vehicle collided with a pickup near Cleveland, Texas.

About the Cleveland Accident

ABC 13 News reports the crash occurred on Texas 105 near Penny Road around 8:30 pm.

The students were traveling westbound in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata when their vehicle was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet pickup that had drifted across the median. The driver of the Sonata attempted to avoid the pickup, but struck the vehicle’s passenger side.

Three of the students were transported to area hospitals and are listed in stable condition. 22-year-old Akshay Jain and 24-year-old Ishan Bajaj were flown to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston with critical injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 25-year-old Ramon Polawco, was taken to an area hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
