Destiny Baker3 years ago

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced the launch of the North American Fatigue Management Program (NAFMP).

About the North American Fatigue Management Program (NAFMP)

“We can help save lives and prevent crashes on our roads by providing drivers and companies with educational tools, like those contained in the North American Fatigue Management Program website.” FMCSA Administrator Anne S. Ferro

  • The NAFMP is a web-based tool meant to provide commercial truck and bus drivers with interactive educational and training modules.
  • The aim of the program is to raise carrier and driver awareness of driver fatigue, a contributing factor to commercial vehicle accidents.
  • The program will accomplish this by helping drivers and carriers identify contributing factors and relay the impact fatigue may have on performance and safety.

Information Included in NAFMP

  • How to build a corporate culture to discourages driver fatigue.
  • Fatigue management.
  • Information on sleep disorders, symptoms and treatment.
  • Advice on driver and trip scheduling management.
