Olivia Finger1 year ago

According to the Tech Times, Ford Motor Company posted recalls for various defective vehicles responsible for several accidents. Among the recalled vehicles were 340,000 Ford Windstars and 70 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner vehicles.

Ford Windstar Minivans Recalled for Axle Issue

Approximately 340,000 1998-2003 Ford Windstar minivans are being recalled for a potential issue which has carried over from a previous recall.

The risk involves possible corrosion and stress on the axle that can lead to cracks and, if unresolved, can completely break.

Ford Motor Company has admitted that these issues have been brought to light in previous years. If the part was not installed correctly, the chances of accident greatly increase. There have already been numerous accidents in relation to this particular issue.

Customers are encouraged to take their vehicle to the dealership to be inspected to determine if the repair brackets were installed correctly. If not, the entire rear axle will be replaced.

Ford Recalls Escape and Mercury Mariner Vehicles

70 2001-2008 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner SUVs are included in a second safety recall issued by Ford.

Reports indicate the transmissions in the vheicles may become faulty resulting in injury or accident.  Also, the shift lever bolt could potentially become loose causing the shift lever to disconnected from the transmission without any warning.

Customers should take their vehicle into the dealership to be inspected for possibly problems. All inspections will be free of charge.
