Ford Recalls 101,000 North American Vehicles

Tina Robinson2 years ago

Ford Motor Co. has recently announced it will recall approximately 101,000 vehicles in North America to correct a variety of problems, according to the Los Angeles Times. The largest of the recalls affects about 90,000 sedans and SUVs that could experience loss of power to the wheels.

About the Ford Recall

Ford has said it will recall 92,022 vehicles due to a potential for the linkage in the powertrain to the right front wheel to break. If this happens, the engine will still run but power will not go to the wheels. The vehicles may also rollaway, even when placed in park. Ford says dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace them if necessary.

The following models are affected by the recall:

  • 2013-2014 Ford Taurus
  • 2013-2014 Lincoln MKS
  • 2013-2014 Police Interceptor
  • 2013-2014 Ford Flex
  • 2013-2014 Lincoln MKT
  • 2012-2014 Ford Edge
  • 2012-2014 Lincoln MKX

Smaller Ford Recalls

Ford has also issued a variety of smaller recalls. These recalls include:

  • 2,124 Ford Escape SUVs: the panorama roof glass may not have been properly cured cause the glass to leak and become loose.
  • 368 Transit Connect commercial vans: the brake fluid reservoir cap may have a European sticker rather than a U.S. sticker.
  • 197 Ford Fiesta with model year 2014: the fuel tank may be missing an adhesive layer than can result in the tank leaking and poses a fire hazard.
