Destiny Baker2 years ago

Ford Motor Co. has announced the recall of 204,448 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles. According to the auto manufacturer, an issue with the vehicles’ gas tanks poses a potential fire hazard.

About the Ford Crossover Recall

According to Reuters, the fuel tank reinforcement brackets used in 2007 and 2008 model year Ford Edge and Lincoln MLX crossovers are prone to corrosion. Ford states that such corrosion could result in a fuel leak and fire.

Ford did acknowledge that one fire has been linked to the issue; however, no accidents, injuries, or deaths are associated with the defective brackets.

The recalled vehicles were sold in 22 U.S. states, most in the Northeast and upper Midwest, and in six provinces of Canada.
