Ford Recalls Additional 1 Million Vehicles for Takata Airbags

Ford has recently announced that they have expanded their recall on vehicles with defective Takata airbags, accordig to Reuters.

Seven Ford Motor Co. Models Recalled

In a release report issued by Ford, the automaker announced it will expand the recall of vehicles to include seven additional vehicle models.

The nearly recalled vehicles are:

  • 2007-2010 Ford Edge
  • 2006-2011 Ford Fusion
  • 2005-2011 Ford Mustang
  • 2007-2011 Ford Ranger
  • 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX
  • 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ
  • 2006-2011 Lincoln Zephyr
  • 2006-2011 Mercury Milan

The new recall involves about 1 million vehicles. According to the stocks reports, both Ford and Takata have experienced tremendous losses due to the ongoing recalls.

Additional Details of the Ford Airbag Recall

According to the Ford website, the recall only affects passenger side airbags.

Ford also stated that they are not aware of any injuries associated with these passenger side frontal inflators. It is strongly urged that if you drive any one of the cars listed above that you immediately cease driving it due to the dangers posed by the airbags.
