Ford Voluntarily Recalls Three Vehicles – Steering Control Problems

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 370,000 vehicles due to a potential corrosion to the steering shaft.

About the Ford Steering Shaft Recall

  • Corrosion of the steering shaft may result in a loss of steering for the consumer increasing the chance of an auto accident.
  • Dealers within individual states will inspect the vehicles in order to replace the lower intermediate steering shaft and may also resecure the lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft.
  • In states not included in the recall notice, owners may ask for inspections and repairs at Ford Motor Company dealerships.

  • 370,000 cars have been recalled by Ford Motor Company with 355,000 in the United States and 15,000 in Canada.
  • Specific models included are the 2005 to 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and the Lincoln Town Car.
  • States that are included are: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
