Four Children Injured After Falling From Trunk of Car

Police in Crowley, Texas say they have arrested a mother who is accused of allowing six children to ride on the trunk of her car. According to NBC DFW, Kisha Young, 39, has been arrested and charged with intoxication assault.

On Tuesday evening, Young was returning from the Creekside Community Pool near the 400 block of Angler Drive in Crowley, Texas. Young allowed six children with ages ranging from 8 to 14 ride on the trunk of her Chevrolet Malibu because their clothes were wet. All six of the children were flung from the hood and landed in the road.

Witnesses told NBC DFW that Young didn’t appear to realize the children had been injured until she reached the end of the block. Four of the children sustained serious injuries and were takane to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. Reports say all the children were treated and released except a 12-year-old girl who was flown to an area hospital with a serious head injury.

A second, unidentified adult has also been connected to the accident by police. The accident is still under investigation and police have said additional charges are pending for both adults.
