Four Injured in Cooke County Train Derailment

According to CBS-DFW, at least four railroad workers were injured Friday when a freight train derailed near Valley View, Texas.

Details of the Train Derailment

The derailment occurred around 1:30 am when the train, consisting of four locomotives and 13 freight cars, left the track as it was traveling southbound towards Alliance Airport in Fort Worth. Two of the locomotives ended up in an extension of Lake Ray Roberts.

All four of the injured railroad workers were transported for Denton Regional Medical Center for treatment. They have sense been released.

Officials believe severe weather may have been a factor in the derailment. Crews are working to clean up debris and repair damaged sections of track. It is unclear when the rail line will become operable again.
