Four People Injured in Florida DUI Accident

A drunk driver in Florida has been arrested after plowing into four people at the Daytona National Speedway.

ABC 13 News is reporting that police in Florida are investigating an accident that happened off the track at the Daytona National Speedway that resulted in four people being injured.

According to police, 43-year-old Abbie Kinney, of Cocoa Beach, was intoxicated when she drove her pickup truck into four people and five campers on Saturday morningThe accident happened at about 2:15 a.m. inside the infield at the Daytona National Speedway, where many families were camping.t.

A witness of the accident said that she first hit one camper, and kept going before she hit another camper. Police records show that Kinney failed several field sobriety tests at the scene of the accident and that a breathalyzer revealed that she had a blood alcohol level of over two times the legal limit.

After she was read her Miranda rights, Kinney admitted that she had consumed three beers and said she shouldn’t have been driving at the time of the accident.

Kinney was arrested and charged with DUI, careless driving, for injuring four people, and for several counts of property damage. She was eleased from jail on a $5,000 bond.
