Garbage Collector Killed in San Antonio

KSAT 12 News in San Antonio is reporting that a garbage collector was killed on Tuesday morning after he was caught in a trash collector in northwest Bexar County.

Details about the Garbage Truck Accident

According to officials from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the Metro Waste Systems employee was found dead at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the solid waste truck in the 1300 block of Dezarae. At this point in the investigation, it is not known how the worked ended up in the truck.

A neighbor who lives in the area told KSAT 12 News that she witnessed the victim pick up a couple of trash bins, when suddenly there was a lot of commotion around the area of the truck.

The name of the victim has not been released yet as deputies are in the process of informing the worker’s family about the fatality.
