Lauren Quinones4 years ago

Five different General Motors (GM) models are being recalled due to a condition in which the return port on the fuel pump module may crack. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this potential crack can cause a fuel leak which can cause a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

GM Models Affected

  • 40,859 total GM vehicles affected.
  • Chevrolet Cobalt (2007-9): originally sold, or currently registered in, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma, or Texas.
  • Chevrolet Equinox (2007): originally sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas.
  • Pontiac G5 (2007-9): originally sold, or currently registered in, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma, or Texas.
  • Pontiac Torrent (2007): originally sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas.

  • Vehicle owners can contact GM at 1-800-521-7300.
  • GM’s campaign number is 12190.
