GM Adds 92,000 Vehicles to List of Ignition Recalls
General Motors (GM) has added another 92,000 trucks and SUVs to its recall of millions of vehicles equipped with defective ignition systems.
About the Ignition Recall Expansion
According to reports, GM announced last week that it would be recalling 92,221 full-size truckans and SUVs for a ignition issue associated with hot conditions.
The automaker states the ignition lock actuators may be too wide and, as a result, may be difficult to turn when inside the cab.
Vehicles affected were manufactured between 2011 and 2012.
Last year, GM was the subject of federal scrutiny after records revealed that a recall for 2.6 million small cars equipped with faulty ignition switches had been linked to at least 42 deaths and more than 50 injuries.
