Ariadna Cossio5 years ago

GM recently recalled nearly 250,000 SUVs due to a possible electrical short which could affect operation of power window and door locks and could cause a vehicle fire. This recall involves the following vehicles from the 2006 and 2007 model years:

  • Buick Rainier
  • Chevrolet Trailblazer
  • GMC Envoy
  • Isuzu Ascender
  • Saab 9-7x

Fluid Leak to Blame for Recall

According to the official recall notice, the affected vehicles may leak car fluid, which could lead to corrosion and cause a short in the circuit board. This could lead to a host of problems, including:

  • Extreme overheating and melting of components in the door module
  • Failure of automatic door locks and power window switches
  • Vehicle fires

Recalled SUVs Were Sold in Several States

The recalled vehicles were originally sold or are currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.
