Golf, Utility Cars Recalled Due to Fuel Leaks

Nineteen models of golf cars and utility vehicles manufactured by Club Car LLC have been recalled by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). According to the CPSC, the vehicles’ fuel tank filler neck can crack and allow fuel to leak, posing a fire hazard.

About the Fuel Leak

  • The fuel tank filler neck prevents fuel leaks and unnecessary fuel pump failures.
  • 4,000 cars have been manufactured.
  • Vehicles were sold in Club Car dealerships from April 2012 through June 2012 for $5,500 and $17,700.
  • Various Carryall, Precedent, Transporter, Villager and XRT models have been recalled. For specific model or serial numbers, please visit the CPSC.

Reported Incidents

  • There have been 10 reported incidents of the fuel tank filler necks cracking.
  • The CPSC is interested in knowing of any other injuries or incidents.
What to Do Next?
  • If you have one of the listed vehicles, stop using it immediately.
  • Contact Club Car for a free replacement fuel tank.
