Jonathan Hernandez12 months ago

A multi-vehicle accident involving a gravel truck and other cars was caught on camera in Travis County, Texas.

Details about the Gravel Truck Accident

WTSP News is reporting that the accident happened at the intersection of FM 2222 and Jester Boulevard on Friday morning, when a dump truck drove straight through a red light, slamming into another car and barely missing others that were traveling through the intersection.

The Director of Technology for KVUE, Mike Wenglar, barely escaped the accident and can be seen in the footage that was captured of the accident.

Wengler’s vehicle suffered only minor damage after he narrowly escaped the accident.

According to other witness who were present at the time of the accident, there were smoke and flames coming out from the scene of the accident.

The cleanup of the intersection by emergency crews and first responders lasted into the night.

KVUE learned that the gravel truck crashed into several vehicles in the intersection before driving off the embankment. The gravel truck also has other accidents on its record.

The Austin Police Department is currently investigating why the gravel truck did not stop at the red light at the intersection.
