GT Fury Mountain Bicycles Recalled Due to Crash and Injury Hazards
Details about the GT Fury Mountain Bicycle Recall
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the front wheel hub of the GT downhill mountain bicycles can break and cause the disc brake system to fail creating a crash and injury hazard. Currently Cyclist Sports Groups has only received two reports of broken hubs and no injuries.
Consumers are encouraged to immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and return them to the nearest GT dealer to have the front wheel replaced for no charge.
Description of GT Downhill Mountain Bicycles
Information below provided by the CPSC:
- The recall covers all 2015 GT Fury Elite and GT Fury Expert mountain bikes.
- The GT Fury Elite bikes were sold in white with blue and red accents while the Fury Expert model was available in metallic grey with lime green accents.
- The recalled bikes were manufactured in Taiwan and imported by Cycling Sports Group Inc. of Wilton, Connecticut
- Sold by authorized GT dealers from November 2014 to March 2015 ranging from $3,200 to $4,400
