One man was critically injured in a hit and run accident that happened on Wednesday evening.

Details about the Hit and Run

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that a man was critically injured on Wednesday evening in a hit and run accident that happened just outside of his home in the northwest portion of Harris County.

According to an accident investigator with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at about 11 p.m. on the 11000 block on Pine Cone Lane, which is near Skyview. The investigator further revealed that a man had stopped his pickup truck along the side of the road and was at the back end of the pickup truck unloading equipment when another driver slammed into the front end of the truck.

The force of the impact pushed the pickup truck into the man, which knocked him to the ground and left him seriously injured. The driver of the vehicle that slammed into the truck, a 21-year-old man, was taken into custody after he slammed into another vehicle down the street. The injured man was taken via helicopter to the Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported in the accident. The driver of the truck is likely to be charged with failure to stop and render aid, as well as for possibly driving while intoxicated.
