A high school student was killed in an accident just days before graduation.

Details about the Fatal Accident

KFSM News is reporting that a student from Oark High School was killed in a car accident that happened on Tuesday morning.

Police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Tod Smith, of Clarksville, and have stated that he had lost control of his GMC Envoy on a tight curve, left the roadway, and then collided with a tree. According to a police report, the accident happened at about 9:30 a.m., at a place that is just a few miles away from Oark High School on Highway 103, just south of Highway 215.

An employee from the high school stated that grief counselors would be brought in on Wednesday for sessions with some of the students and would be available as needed.

The school’s graduation is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.
