Honda Civic Likely Recalled Due to Engine Problems

Hillary Dunkley7 months ago

According to Bloomberg, the 2016 North American Car of the Year is being recalled just months after its debut due to a likely issue with the engine.

About the Civic Engine Recall

The head of the company has issued an email to car dealers, but has yet to provide any necessary details such as model numbers or amount of cars that will be recalled.

Car enthusiast site, CivicX.com, speculates that around 34,000 2016 Honda Civics are involved “because of missing piston rings that could cause engines to stall or fail”. If stalling occurs while the vehicle is being operated, the occurrence could leave motorists at an increase risk of crash.

The company will release an official recall once National Highway Traffic Safety Administration presents their stance on the issue.

The pending recall comes after a number of recalls for Honda vehicles equipped with Takata airbags. So far, defective airbags in Honda vehicles have been linked to at least eight deaths.

  • 2002-2003 Acura CL and TL
