Details on the Tony Robins Event and Resulting Injuries
News 8 was informed by trainers for Robbins’ motivational seminars that walking on coals is actually a very emotional experience for people. The people participating were involved in something they did not think was possible, during the “Unleash the Power Within” seminar.
The reality proved very painful when several ambulances staged outside had to be called in to treat dozens of people for burn injuries. Five of these people were taken to the hospital.
It is claimed that walking on hot coals has become a typical event at Tony Robbins’ seminars.
Among the 7,000 people walking across, witness Jacqueline Luxemburg claims many were distracted; people being on their cell phones, taking pictures, and she believes that has a lot to do with the tragic outcome.
Jason Evans, a Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman, said all the necessary permitting was in place to conduct the operation, including a Fire Watch.
