An 8-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding on horseback in northwest Harris County.

About the Fatal Accident

According to the Houston Chronicle, the young boy was horseback riding with his father when he and his horse were struck by an SUV.

The collision occurred as the two crossed Spears Road near Walters. The boy’s father stated that they had check for traffic and saw the vehicle in the “far, far distance.” Upon attempting to cross, the car was “right up on them” and struck the child.
