Houston Girl Killed in Fatal Hit and Run

A young girl is Houston is killed after she is hit by a hit-and-run driver in Southwest Houston.

Details about the Fatal Hit-and-Run

KRTK News in Houston is reporting that an 11-year-old girl was struck and killed Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident in the Southwest part of town.

Houston police say that they responded to the scene of the accident at Southwest Freeway and Westpark Drive just after 6 p.m.

According to investigators, the driver in the pickup truck was crossing the intersection was heading north on the service road of the Southwest Freeway when a red vehicle clipped the truck causing it to slam against a concrete column. The driver of the red vehicle that hit the truck made no effort to stop and kept going.

All of the people in the truck except the passenger in the front of the vehicle were taken to the hospital. The truck contained two adult males and five children.

Police are currently searching for the driver of the car that hit the truck and believe that the vehicle could possibly be a Chevrolet Cobalt or Cavalier.
