Houston Man Blames Fatal Car Crash on Highway Construction Zone

Chelcy Williams11 months ago

KHOU reports two people are dead after a fiery crash on Highway 290. Confusing traffic patterns within a construction zone are allegedly to blame.

About the Construction Zone Accident

Last Thursday morning, Anthony Hogue was involved in a fatal auto accident resulting in the death of two people. Hogue was a passenger in a stalled vehicle on Highway 290 in Houston when an 18-wheeler crashed into the vehicle, claiming the life of the semi-driver and the stalled vehicle’s driver.

Hogue blames the fatal accident on confusing traffic patterns created by the construction zones in the area. According to Hogue, the female passenger in the vehicle tried to warn the semi, but she was unable to grab his attention.

Hogue was able to successfully remove the female driver from the fiery scene but was unable to save his friend.

Hogue believes another crash is bound to happen in that area because of the confusing traffic patterns; however, the Texas Department of Transportation says it hasn't seen an increase in accidents along that construction zone.
