Identity Released of Man Killed in 18-Wheeler Collision

A young man who was killed on Thursday in a collision with an 18-wheeler has been identified by New Jersey State Police.

New Jersey Online has reported that the New Jersey State Police have identified the victim that died in a fatal collision with an 18-wheeler on Thursday.

22-year-old Christian Marchena was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after he lost control of his car on a patch of ice and crashed into an 18-wheeler on Straughns Mill Road in Salem County.

According to authorities, Marchena was driving his sedan north on Straughns Mill just after 8 a.m. on Thursday when his car slid on ice that was on the roadway, causing him to slam into a Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was headed south on Freed Road.

After police and emergency crews arrived, the 22-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident from impact. At this time, the current condition of the driver of the tractor-trailer in unknown.
