IKEA Recalls Crib Mattresses for Entrapment Hazard
About the Crib Mattress Recall
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there is too big of a gap between the mattress and the end of the crib. Luckily, the two children that were entrapped were removed from the situation before any damage could be done, but the company has decided to recall the five mattress models.
Consumers should give the recalled mattress a thorough inspection by making sure there is no gap larger than the width of two fingers between the ends of the crib and the mattress. If the gap is larger than normal, customers should cease the usage of said mattress immediately.
Return the defective product to any IKEA store for an exchange or full refund. If consumers have any further questions or concerns, they can call IKEA directly at (888)966-4532.
