About the Fatal San Antonio Incident
Newsweek reports that 41-year-old Gilbert Flores was shot by police responding to a domestic incident.
According to the local police, the deputies were called because Flores allegedly harmed an 18-month-old baby and a woman. A passing motorist recorded a video of the incident which shows two deputies shooting a man that appears to have his hands raised.
The video shows Flores raising his hands behind a pole and later two shots were fired and show Flores falling to the ground. A clear view of Flores’ left hand is obstructed by the pole.
In a press conference held on Wednesday, Sheriff Susan Pamerleau acknowledged the existence of a second, clearer video which appears to show an object in Flores’ hand. This video has not yet been released to the public, and Pamerleau could not confirm whether the item in Flores’ hand was the knife reported by authorities.
