Tractor Accident Facts and Statistics
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) estimates that farm accidents are responsible for 1,300 fatalities and 120,000 injuries each year. Tractor accidents contribute to the most farm accident fatalities; rollover accidents make up 44 percent of all tractor-related fatalities. Tragically, OSHA says many of these deaths are preventable. One estimate suggests that the use of protective equipment such as seat belts could prevent as many as 40 percent of all farm accident injuries.
