Jacksonville Motorcyclist Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident

One man was killed on Sunday in a motorcycle accident in Jacksonville.

Details about the Motorcycle Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a man was killed on Sunday evening in an accident involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck in Jacksonville. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident temporarily shut down the southbound lanes on Interstate 95 and the north side of Interstate 295.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department indicated that the motorcyclist, 28-year-old Joseph Powell lost control of the bike and hit a concrete barrier wall. Powell was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Florida Highway Patrol also stated that a tractor-trailer hit Powell and then left the scene of the accident. Another tractor-trailer hit Powell, stopped at the scene of the accident to render aid and is not expected to receive any charges.
