A teenager in Jacksonville was killed while riding his skateboard.

Details about the Fatal Accident Involving the Teenager

News 4 Jacksonville is reporting that a 16-year-old boy who was crossing Anastasia Boulevard on a skateboard on Thursday morning was hit by an SUV and killed, according to the St. Augustine police.

The teenager was a student at St. Augustine High School, according to family members. The boy was taken to the Flagler Hospital with critical injuries where he later died, according to police. The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Anastasia Boulevard and Menendez Road, which is near the Conch House Restaurant not far from the Lighthouse.

The driver of the SUV who hit and killed the teenager did stop at the scene of the accident and is fully cooperating with traffic homicide investigators. The circumstances of the fatal pedestrian accident involving the teenager currently remain under investigation.
