Jacksonville Woman Killed in Nassau Head-On Collision

According to The Florida Times-Union, a 49-year-old woman from Jacksonville, Florida was killed in a head-on collision in Nassau Country after she drove into the path of a log truck.

About the Head-On Collision in Nassau County

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the woman, Sandra Leigh Tackett, was killed after crossing over the center lane of River Road in her Acura RSX right after 9 a. m. on Tuesday.

The woman drove directly into the path of a tractor-trailer that was carrying logs. The tractor-trailer overturned as a result of the collision and lost its load of logs, according to Sergeant Dylan Bryan of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sandra Leigh Tackett was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the tractor-trailer hauling logs, 33-year-old Jacob David Jackson of Hillard was not injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
